세네갈 출신의 마리아 시가는 ‘Jazz Women in Africa’ 프로젝트에 선정된 7명의 여성 아티스트 중 한명으로 놀라운 이력을 가지고 있습니다. ‘Baco Records Contest’의 우승과 ‘Victoires du Reggae’에 후보로 음악성을 인정받았으며, ‘Festival Nuits du Sud’ 심사위원으로 그 음악경력을 펼치고 있습니다.
 
MARIAA SIGA from Senegal is a winner of the Baco Records Contest, of the Mondial des Femmes in Abidjan, nominated for the Victoires du Reggae, jury prize at the Festival Nuits du Sud, selected at MAPAS in Tenerife at the Journées Musicales de Carthage and finalist for the Prix Découvertes RFI , she is also one of the 7 women artists selected for the Jazz Women in Africa project.
